Product are becoming more and more complex. Even for sales representatives it is hard to understand what all the options and prices are. That is why there is something called “Configure, Price, Quote” CPQ in short. This is a name for solutions that calculate the right product for the customer.

All the products and all the options are in the system. And by selecting them the system calculates the price and other things like the right SKU, product and production codes. But above all, the system won’t let you make wrong or impossible combinations.
The core of CPQ are these relations between products and product options. Some features exclude other possibilities. Choosing a cabriolet car for instance, will exclude a choice for sunroof. And it applies to many products, not just cars.
